Meet Doctor David Kershner!
Dr. David Kershner is the CEO and Founder of Joshua Medical Center, operating the clinics for over 15 years. He is a Family Doctor of Medicine who has been practicing medicine for over 23 years. Dr. Kershner is a veteran of almost 30 years of service to the United States Army and the United States Air Force.
He received his M.S.P.A from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and his Doctor of Medicine degree at St. Matthew University School of Medicine. Before beginning his medical career, Dr. Kershner was serving in the 1/4 CAV in the United States Army and is a combat veteran of Iraq. Dr. Kershner continued his military career and was trained in Aero Space Medicine in the United States Air Force. He served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and continues to serve the military community at Offutt Air Force Base as a reservist. Dr. Kershner has lived in various locations with the military but has spent the greater part of his medical career serving patients in the Omaha, Nebraska area.
While balancing his medical and military careers, Dr. Kershner became well known for his multiple publications* and esteemed degrees. Notably, he published cutting edge research for NASA, studying lumbar intrathecal ligaments in astronauts during micro gravity. This publication has helped researchers to understand lumbar pain in astronauts during space flight and has led to further studies on the subject. This research is published in multiple texts and led Dr. Kershner to receive his PhD in Neuroscience through the UNMC Interdisciplinary Graduate Program.
Dr. Kershner specializes in Diabetes and Insulin Resistance Management. He is a leading expert in Insulin Resistance as he designed and developed clinical laboratory testing for this disease. This testing accurately identifies Insulin Resistance allowing appropriate diagnosis and treatment. This ground-breaking research reduces production of Type 2 Diabetes in patients while also preventing other illnesses related to abnormalities in insulin production. With this research, Dr. Kershner recently received his PhD in Public Health & Epidemiology with a special focus in Endocrinology. He is well known for reversing Diabetes and Insulin Resistance in uncontrolled patients who have now gone on to lead healthy lives.
